Yosuke Takigawa

Former Executive, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation

Former Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation (MITAC) executive, Yosuke Takigawa, reported directly to the president advising on multi-national issues such as Product Strategy, Program Management, Supplier Management, Sales & Marketing, Staffing and Public Relations.

As one of the first employees of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) subsidiary, his initial role at MITAC was to lead the Sales and Marketing team. In this capacity, he and his team successfully received launch orders for the MRJ90 and MRJ70 from All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Trans State Holdings (TSH), establishing aircraft sales from Japan and the United States.

Yosuke’s responsibilities later expanded to the program side of the operation to help recruit experienced foreign engineers to assist with MITAC’s Type Certification (TC) efforts. Over time, his responsibilities continued to escalate, including significant oversight of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet program (later renamed the Space Jet).

Early in his career, Yosuke worked on the Diamond Jet, an aircraft designed to hold six to seven passengers. His career primarily focused on commercial aviation business, jet engine, and aircraft manufacturing. During his time at MHI, Yosuke also worked for a few years in the Japanese military missile business and MHI’s oil and gas plant business.

His background also includes stints working on the V2500 engine, PW4000 engine, the Rolls Royce Trent program, and GE’s GENX program.

Having worked in commercial jet and aircraft business arenas, working very closely with METI of Japan, he gained a deep knowledge of operating international aviation businesses and learned the ropes in operating with Japanese government organizations.

While at MITAC, Yosuke had the distinct pleasure of adding diversity to the traditionally Japanese management-styled organization. In this capacity, he recruited more than 300 multi-language, multi-cultural engineers, thereby introducing the company to a new way of managing, helping them adapt and achieve shared organizational goals.

A native of Japan, he graduated from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is married with three adult children.
